بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Al- Fatihah Verse 1-7

(read by Muslims)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful. All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgment/Religion. You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help. Guide us along the Straight Path, the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray.

Al- Baqarah Verse 67

(read by prophet Musa)

أَعُوذُ بِٱللَّهِ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ

“I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant”

Al- Baqarah Verse 126

(read by prophet Ibrahim - best to read when you are in Makkah)

رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَـٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنًۭا وَٱرْزُقْ أَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ مَنْ ءَامَنَ مِنْهُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ

“My Lord, make this city secure and provide fruits to its people—those among them who believe in Allah and the Last Day.”

Al- Baqarah Verse 127 - 129

(read by prophet Ibrahim and Ismael - after raising the foundations of the House)

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ رَبَّنَا وَٱجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةًۭ مُّسْلِمَةًۭ لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ رَبَّنَا وَٱبْعَثْ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًۭا مِّنْهُمْ يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

“Our Lord! Accept ˹this˺ from us. You are indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Our Lord! Make us both ˹fully˺ submit to You and from our descendants a nation that will submit to You. Show us our rituals, and turn to us in grace. You are truly the Accepter of Repentance, Most Merciful. Our Lord! Raise from among them a messenger who will recite to them Your revelations, teach them the Book and wisdom, and purify them. Indeed, You ˹alone˺ are the Almighty, All-Wise.”

Al- Baqarah Verse 201

(read by Muslims)

رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةًۭ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

“Our Lord! Grant us the good of this world and the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.”

Al- Baqarah Verse 250

(read by some believers that were certain of the meeting of Allah from the army of Tholut when facing the army of Jaalut)

رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًۭا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

“Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance, make firm our steps, and help us over the disbelieving people.”

Al- Baqarah Verse 260

(read by prophet Ibrahim to strengthen his faith/to reassure his heart)

إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّ أَرِنِى كَيْفَ تُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ۖ قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تُؤْمِن ۖ قَالَ بَلَىٰ وَلَـٰكِن لِّيَطْمَئِنَّ قَلْبِى

“My Lord! Show me how you give life to the dead.” Allah responded, “Do you not believe?” He replied, “Yes I do, but just so my heart can be reassured.”

Al- Baqarah Verse 285

(read by Muslims)

غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ

˹We seek˺ Your forgiveness, our Lord! And to You ˹alone˺ is the final return.”

Al- Baqarah Verse 286

(read by Muslims)

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَآ إِن نَّسِينَآ أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَآ إِصْرًۭا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِۦ ۖ وَٱعْفُ عَنَّا وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَآ ۚ أَنتَ مَوْلَىٰنَا فَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

“Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our ˹only˺ Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”

Al- Imran Verse 8

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

˹They say,˺ “Our Lord! Do not let our hearts deviate after you have guided us. Grant us Your mercy. You are indeed the Giver ˹of all bounties˺.

Al- Imran Verse 16

(read by Muslims)

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

“Our Lord! We have believed, so forgive our sins and protect us from the torment of the Fire.”

Al- Imran Verse 35

(read by wife of Imran that intent to dedicate the kid in her womb to God)

رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًۭا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

“My Lord! I dedicate what is in my womb entirely to Your service, so accept it from me. You ˹alone˺ are truly the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”

Al- Imran Verse 36

(read by wife of Imran for her daughter)

إِنِّىٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ

"I seek Your protection for her and her offspring from Satan, the accursed.”

Al- Imran Verse 38

(read by prophet Zachariah for a righteous offspring)

رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةًۭ طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

“My Lord! Grant me—by your grace—righteous offspring. You are certainly the Hearer of ˹all˺ prayers.”

Al- Imran Verse 41

(read by prophet Zachariah to have a sign from God)

رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةًۭ ۖ

“My Lord! Grant me a sign.”

Al- Imran Verse 53

(read by Hawariyyun- disciples of prophet Eesa)

رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ وَٱتَّبَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱكْتُبْنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ

“Our Lord! We believe in Your revelations and follow the messenger, so count us among those who bear witness.”

Al- Imran Verse 147

(read by Muslims)

رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِىٓ أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَٱنصُرْنَا عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

“Our Lord! Forgive our sins and excesses, make our steps firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”

Al- Imran Verse 191

(read by Muslims that are pondering over the creation of Allah)

رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَـٰذَا بَـٰطِلًۭا سُبْحَـٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ

“Our Lord! You have not created ˹all of˺ this without purpose. Glory be to You! Protect us from the torment of the Fire."

Al- Imran Verse 193

(read by Muslims to be included with the Abrar)

رَّبَّنَآ إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًۭا يُنَادِى لِلْإِيمَـٰنِ أَنْ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَـَٔامَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّـَٔاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ

Our Lord! We have heard the caller to ˹true˺ belief, ˹proclaiming,˺ ‘Believe in your Lord ˹alone˺,’ so we believed. Our Lord! Forgive our sins, absolve us of our misdeeds, and join us with the virtuous when we die‎.

Al- Imran Verse 194

(read by Muslims)

رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

Our Lord! Grant us what You have promised us through Your messengers and do not put us to shame on Judgment Day—for certainly You never fail in Your promise.”

An- Nisa Verse 75

(read by the Oppresed)

رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَٱجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّۭا وَٱجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيرًا

“Our Lord! Deliver us from this land of oppressors! Appoint for us a saviour; appoint for us a helper—all by Your grace.”

Al- Maidah Verse 25

(read by prophet Musa when his people were disobedient to him)

رَبِّ إِنِّى لَآ أَمْلِكُ إِلَّا نَفْسِى وَأَخِى ۖ فَٱفْرُقْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ

“My Lord! I have no control over anyone except myself and my brother. So set us apart from the rebellious people.”

Al- Maidah Verse 83 and 84

(read by Christian monks and priest whom were not arrogant that had recognise the truth from God)

رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱكْتُبْنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ وَمَا لَنَا لَا نُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَا جَآءَنَا مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَنَطْمَعُ أَن يُدْخِلَنَا رَبُّنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

“Our Lord! We believe, so count us among the witnesses. Why should we not believe in Allah and the truth that has come to us? And we long for our Lord to include us in the company of the righteous.”

Al- Maidah Verse 114

(read by prophet Eesa)

ٱللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَآ أَنزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مَآئِدَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ تَكُونُ لَنَا عِيدًۭا لِّأَوَّلِنَا وَءَاخِرِنَا وَءَايَةًۭ مِّنكَ ۖ وَٱرْزُقْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ

“O Allah, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread with food as a feast for us—the first and last of us—and as a sign from You. Provide for us! You are indeed the Best Provider.”

Al- Aaraf Verse 23

(read by Adam and Eve after Satan deceived them to eat from the forbidden tree)

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ

“Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will certainly be losers.”

Al- Aaraf Verse 47

(read by Muslims that have not entered Paradise yet while they were looking towards the residents of Hell)

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

“Our Lord! Do not join us with the wrongdoing people.”

Al- Aaraf Verse 89

(read by prophet Shuaib and the Muslims that were with him)

رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَـٰتِحِينَ

“Our Lord! Judge between us and our people with truth. You are the best of those who judge.”

Al- Aaraf Verse 126

(read by the magicians during the time of prophet Musa when Firaun threatened to crucify them for accepting the truth)

رَبَّنَآ أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًۭا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

“ Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance, and let us die while submitting ˹to You˺.”

Al- Aaraf Verse 143

(read by prophet Musa) ***

رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ

“My Lord! Reveal Yourself to me so I may see You.”

***(To take note that though this invocation by prophet Musa was recorded in Quran, it was not successful. Prophet Musa instantly repented after he regain conciousness. As human beings, we are not able to see the true Majesty of God, as confirmed in Surah Al-Anam verse 103 "No vision can grasp Him". The good news however, that when the promised Day come, some faces will be bright looking at their Lord (as how God wished it to be) as mentioned in Surah Al-Qiyamah verse 22 and 23)

Al- Aaraf Verse 151

(read by prophet Musa)

رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِأَخِى وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِى رَحْمَتِكَ ۖ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

“My Lord! Forgive me and my brother! And admit us into Your mercy. You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

***(To take note that this invocation by prophet Musa was recorded in Quran, Due to the nature of this sentence, some statements are not applicable for some of us to repeat as invocation)

Al- Aaraf Verse 155 and 156

(read by prophet Musa)

رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِيَّـٰىَ ۖ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَّآ ۖ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَهْدِى مَن تَشَآءُ ۖ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْغَـٰفِرِينَ وَٱكْتُبْ لَنَا فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَآ إِلَيْكَ

“My Lord! Had You willed, You could have destroyed them long ago, and me as well. Will You destroy us for what the foolish among us have done? This is only a test from You—by which You allow whoever you will to stray and guide whoever You will. You are our Guardian. So forgive us and have mercy on us. You are the best forgiver. Ordain for us what is good in this life and the next. Indeed, we have turned to You ˹in repentance˺.”

Yunus Verse 85 and 86

(read by Muslims during the time of prophet Musa)

عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ

“In Allah we trust. Our Lord! Do not subject us to the persecution of the oppressive people, and deliver us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.”

Yunus Verse 88

(read by prophet Musa)

رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ ءَاتَيْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَأَهُۥ زِينَةًۭ وَأَمْوَٰلًۭا فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا رَبَّنَا لِيُضِلُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِكَ ۖ رَبَّنَا ٱطْمِسْ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَٱشْدُدْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ

“Our Lord! You have granted Pharaoh and his chiefs luxuries and riches in this worldly life, ˹which they abused˺ to lead people astray from Your Way! Our Lord, destroy their riches and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment.”

Hud Verse 47

(read by prophet Noah when he questioned God's Decision regarding his son)

رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ

“My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking You about what I have no knowledge of, and unless You forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be one of the losers.”

Yusuf Verse 23

(read by prophet Yusuf when appoached by the wife of al-aziz - nobleman during his time)

مَعَاذَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ رَبِّىٓ أَحْسَنَ مَثْوَاىَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ

“Allah is my refuge! Indeed He is my Lord, who has taken good care of me. Indeed, the wrongdoers never succeed.”

Yusuf Verse 33

(read by prophet Yusuf when he prefered being jail over obeying the order of wife of al-aziz)

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱلسِّجْنُ أَحَبُّ إِلَىَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُونَنِىٓ إِلَيْهِ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّى كَيْدَهُنَّ أَصْبُ إِلَيْهِنَّ وَأَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ

“My Lord! I would rather be in jail than do what they invite me to. And if You do not turn their cunning away from me, I might yield to them and fall into ignorance.”

Yusuf Verse 101

(read by prophet Yusuf after God granted him authority in the land and taught him the interpretation of dreams)

فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ أَنتَ وَلِىِّۦ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِى مُسْلِمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

“˹O˺ Originator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Guardian in this world and the Hereafter. Allow me to die as one who submits and join me with the righteous.”

Ibrahim Verse 35

(read by prophet Ibrahim - best to read in Makkah due to the structure of the sentence)

رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدَ ءَامِنًۭا وَٱجْنُبْنِى وَبَنِىَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ ٱلْأَصْنَامَ

“My Lord! Make this city secure, and keep me and my children away from the worship of idols.

Ibrahim Verse 37-39

(read by prophet Ibrahim - due to the specificity of this dua verse 37 to 39 of Surah Ibrahim is most suited to be read only by prophet Ibrahim )

رَّبَّنَآ إِنِّىٓ أَسْكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِى بِوَادٍ غَيْرِ ذِى زَرْعٍ عِندَ بَيْتِكَ ٱلْمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱجْعَلْ أَفْـِٔدَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ تَهْوِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ وَٱرْزُقْهُم مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْكُرُونَ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ مَا نُخْفِى وَمَا نُعْلِنُ ۗ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍۢ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى وَهَبَ لِى عَلَى ٱلْكِبَرِ إِسْمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَسَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ

Our Lord! I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley, near Your Sacred House, our Lord, so that they may establish prayer. So make the hearts of ˹believing˺ people incline towards them and provide them with fruits, so perhaps they will be thankful. Our Lord! You certainly know what we conceal and what we reveal. Nothing on earth or in heaven is hidden from Allah. All praise is for Allah who has blessed me with Ishmael and Isaac in my old age. My Lord is indeed the Hearer of ˹all˺ prayers.

Ibrahim Verse 40

(read by prophet Ibrahim)

رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْنِى مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِى ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَآءِ

My Lord! Make me and those of my descendants keep up prayer. Our Lord! Accept my prayers.

Ibrahim Verse 41

(read by prophet Ibrahim)

رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْحِسَابُ

Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the judgment will come to pass.

Al-Isra Verse 24

(Taught by God to pray for parents)

رَّبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِى صَغِيرًۭا

“My Lord! Be merciful to them as they raised me when I was young.”

Al-Isra Verse 80

(read by prophet Muhammad)

رَّبِّ أَدْخِلْنِى مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍۢ وَأَخْرِجْنِى مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍۢ وَٱجْعَل لِّى مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَـٰنًۭا نَّصِيرًۭا

“My Lord! Grant me an honourable entrance and an honourable exit and give me a supporting authority from Yourself.”

Al-Kahf Verse 10

(read by Youths that took refuge in the Cave)

رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةًۭ وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًۭا

“Our Lord! Grant us mercy from Yourself and guide us rightly through our ordeal.”

Maryam Verse 4,5 and 6

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًۭا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّۭا وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّۭا يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّۭا

“My Lord! Surely my bones have become brittle, and grey hair has spread across my head, but I have never been disappointed in my prayer to You, my Lord! And I am concerned about ˹the faith of˺ my relatives after me, since my wife is barren. So grant me, by Your grace, an heir, who will inherit ˹prophethood˺ from me and the family of Jacob, and make him, O Lord, pleasing ˹to You˺!”

Maryam Verse 10

رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةًۭ

“My Lord! Grant me a sign.”

Maryam Verse 18

(read by Maryam)

إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّۭا

“I truly seek refuge in the Most Compassionate from you (minka- masculine you) if you are God-fearing.”

Taha Verse 25 to 35

(read by prophet Musa)***

قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى وَيَسِّرْ لِىٓ أَمْرِى وَٱحْلُلْ عُقْدَةًۭ مِّن لِّسَانِى يَفْقَهُوا۟ قَوْلِى وَٱجْعَل لِّى وَزِيرًۭا مِّنْ أَهْلِى هَـٰرُونَ أَخِى ٱشْدُدْ بِهِۦٓ أَزْرِى وَأَشْرِكْهُ فِىٓ أَمْرِى كَىْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرًۭا وَنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِيرًا إِنَّكَ كُنتَ بِنَا بَصِيرًۭا

“My Lord! Uplift my heart for me, and make my task easy, and remove the impediment from my tongue so people may understand my speech, and grant me a helper from my family, Aaron, my brother. Strengthen me through him, and let him share my task, so that we may glorify You much and remember You much, for truly You have ˹always˺ been overseeing us.”

***(To take note that this invocation by prophet Musa was recorded in Quran, was successful and God granted all of his request. Due to the nature of this sentence, some statements are not applicable for us to repeat so most of us will stop until "yafqohu qoulli - understand my speech".

Taha Verse 114

رَّبِّ زِدْنِى عِلْمًۭا

“My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.”

Al -Anbiya Verse 89

(read by prophet Zakaria)

رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِى فَرْدًۭا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ

“My Lord! Do not leave me childless, though You are the Best of Successors.”

Al -Anbiya Verse 112

(read by prophet Muhammad)

رَبِّ ٱحْكُم بِٱلْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ ٱلْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ

“My Lord! Judge ˹between us˺ in truth. And our Lord is the Most Compassionate, Whose help is sought against what you attribute.”

Al -Mu'minun Verse 26

رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ

“My Lord! Help me, because they have denied ˹me˺.”

Al -Mu'minun Verse 29

(read by prophet Nuh and those with him in the Ark)

رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِى مُنزَلًۭا مُّبَارَكًۭا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ

“My Lord! Allow me a blessed landing, for You are the best of those who cause to land.”

Al -Mu'minun Verse 39

(read by a messenger after prophet Noah)

رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ

“My Lord! Help me, because they have denied ˹me˺.”

Al -Mu'minun Verse 93 and 94

(read by prophet Muhammad - to be excluded from the wrong doing people)

رَّبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّى مَا يُوعَدُونَ رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِى فِى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

“My Lord! Should You show me what they are threatened with, then, my Lord, do not count me among the wrongdoing people.”

Al -Mu'minun Verse 97 and 98

رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَٰتِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحْضُرُونِ

“My Lord! I seek refuge in You from the temptations of the devils. And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, that they come near me.”

Al -Mu'minun Verse 109

(read by servants of Allah that was laughed at)

رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

‘Our Lord! We have believed, so forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the best of those who show mercy,’

Al -Mu'minun Verse 118

رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ وَٱرْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ

“My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy.”

Al -Furqan Verse 65

(read by servants of the Most Compassionate)

رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا إِنَّهَا سَآءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّۭا وَمُقَامًۭا

“Our Lord! Keep the punishment of Hell away from us, for its punishment is indeed unrelenting. It is certainly an evil place to settle and reside.”

Al -Furqan Verse 74

(read by Muslims)

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍۢ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا

“Our Lord! Bless us with spouses and offspring who will be the joy of our hearts, and make us models for the righteous.”

As- Shu'ara Verse 12 and 13

رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ

“My Lord! I fear that they will reject me. And my heart will be broken and my tongue will be tied. So send Aaron along."

***(To take note that this invocation by prophet Musa was recorded in Quran, Due to the nature of this sentence, some statements are not applicable for us to repeat as invocation)

As- Shu'ara Verse 83 to 89

رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍۢ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ

“My Lord! Grant me wisdom, and join me with the righteous. Bless me with honourable mention among later generations. Make me one of those awarded the Garden of Bliss. Forgive my father, for he is certainly one of the misguided. And do not disgrace me on the Day all will be resurrected, the Day when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit. Only those who come before Allah with a pure heart. ”

***(To take note that this invocation by prophet Ibrahim was recorded in Quran, Due to the nature of this sentence, some statements like وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

"forgive my father, for he is certainly one of the misguided" are not applicable for most of us to repeat as invocation)

As- Shu'ara Verse 117 and 118

(read by prophet Nuh)

رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًۭا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

“My Lord! My people have truly rejected me. So judge between me and them decisively, and save me and the believers with me.”

As- Shu'ara Verse 169

(read by prophet Lut - to be saved from his people during his time when they were engaging in a detestful practice )

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ

"My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do.”

An- Naml Verse 19

(read by prophet Sulaiman)

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِى بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

“My Lord! Inspire me to be thankful for Your favours which You have blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please you. Admit me, by Your mercy, into Your righteous servants.”

Al- Qasas Verse 16

رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى فَٱغْفِرْ لِى

“My Lord! I have definitely wronged my soul, so forgive me.”

Al- Qasas Verse 21

(read by prophet Musa)

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

“My Lord! Deliver me from the wrongdoing people.”

Al- Qasas Verse 24

(read by prophet Musa)

رَبِّ إِنِّى لِمَآ أَنزَلْتَ إِلَىَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍۢ فَقِيرٌۭ

“My Lord! I am truly in need of whatever provision You may have in store for me.”

Al- Qasas Verse 33 and 34

(read by prophet Musa***)

رَبِّ إِنِّى قَتَلْتُ مِنْهُمْ نَفْسًۭا فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ وَأَخِى هَـٰرُونُ هُوَ أَفْصَحُ مِنِّى لِسَانًۭا فَأَرْسِلْهُ مَعِىَ رِدْءًۭا يُصَدِّقُنِىٓ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ

“My Lord! I have indeed killed a man from them, so I fear they may kill me. And my brother Aaron is more eloquent than me, so send him with me as a helper to support what I say, for I truly fear they may reject me.”

***(To take note that this invocation by prophet Musa was recorded in Quran, linked to what was recorded in As- Shu'ara Verse 12 and 13

Due to the nature of this sentence, this invocation is not applicable for most us to repeat as invocation)

Al- Ankabut Verse 30

رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

“My Lord! Help me against the people of corruption.”

As- Saffat Verse 100

(read by prophet Ibrahim)

رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

“My Lord! Bless me with righteous offspring.”

Sa'd Verse 35

(read by prophet Sulaiman)

رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَهَبْ لِى مُلْكًۭا لَّا يَنۢبَغِى لِأَحَدٍۢ مِّنۢ بَعْدِىٓ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

“My Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom that will never be matched by anyone after me. You are indeed the Bestower.”

Ghafir Verse 7 to 9

(read by Angels of God bearing the Throne and those around it)

رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۢ رَّحْمَةًۭ وَعِلْمًۭا فَٱغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدتَّهُمْ وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَأَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ وَقِهِمُ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ وَمَن تَقِ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُۥ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

“Our Lord! You encompass everything in ˹Your˺ mercy and knowledge. So forgive those who repent and follow Your Way, and protect them from the torment of the Hellfire. Our Lord! Admit them into the Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them, along with the righteous among their parents, spouses, and descendants. You ˹alone˺ are truly the Almighty, All-Wise. And protect them from evil deeds. For whoever You protect from the evil of their deeds on that Day will have been shown Your mercy. That is the ultimate triumph.”

Ghafir Verse 27

إِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُم مِّن كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍۢ لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ

“I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant person who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning.”

Ad-Dukhan Verse 20

وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ

“ I seek refuge with my Lord and your Lord so you do not stone me”

Al-Ahqaf Verse 15

(read by Muslims)

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِى فِى ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ ۖ إِنِّى تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ

“My Lord! Inspire me to be thankful for Your favours which You blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please You. And instil righteousness in my offspring. I truly repent to You, and I am among those who submit.”

Al -Hashr Verse 10

رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلْإِيمَـٰنِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِى قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّۭا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ

“Our Lord! Forgive us and our fellow believers who preceded us in faith, and do not allow any rancor into our hearts towards those who believe. Our Lord! Indeed, You are Ever Gracious, Most Merciful.”

Al -Mumtahanah Verse 4 and 5

(read by prophet Ibrahim and Muslims during his time)

رَّبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا رَبَّنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

“Our Lord! In You we trust. And to You we turn. And to You is the final return. Our Lord! Do not render us as trial for those who disbelieve. Forgive us, our Lord! You are truly the Almighty, All-Wise.”

At -Tahrim Verse 8

(read by the Prophet and believers on the promised Day)

رَبَّنَآ أَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغْفِرْ لَنَآ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ

“Our Lord! Perfect our light for us, and forgive us. You are truly Most Capable of everything.”

At-Tahrim Verse 11

(read by wife of Pharaoh)

رَبِّ ٱبْنِ لِى عِندَكَ بَيْتًۭا فِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِى مِن فِرْعَوْنَ وَعَمَلِهِۦ وَنَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

“My Lord! Build me a house in near You in Paradise, deliver me from Pharaoh and his ˹evil˺ doing, and save me from the wrongdoing people.”

Nuh Verse 26 to 28

(read by prophet Nuh)

رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًۭا كَفَّارًۭا رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًۭا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا

“My Lord! Do not leave a single disbeliever on earth. For if You spare them, they will certainly mislead Your servants, and give birth only to sinners, staunch disbelievers. My Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and whoever enters my house in faith, and ˹all˺ believing men and women. And increase the wrongdoers only in destruction.”

Al- Falaq

(taught by Allah)

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak from the evil of whatever He has created, and from the evil of the night when it grows dark, and from the evil of those blowing onto knots, and from the evil of an envier when they envy.”

An- Nas

(taught by Allah)

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ

Say, “I seek refuge in the Lord of humankind, the King of humankind, the God of humankind, from the evil of the lurking whisperer— who whispers into the hearts of humankind— from among jinn and humankind.”

May Allah guide us to the best of both worlds.
